Dungey was fastest in the first timed session and edged Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto by 0.017 seconds. San Manuel Yamaha’s Josh Hill was third fastest, ahead of GEICO Powersports Honda’s Kevin Windham and Red Bull Honda substitute rider Trey Canard. In the Lites class, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Christophe Pourcel turned the fastest time, nearly a second faster than MotoConcepts Yamaha’s Ryan Sipes. Meanwhile, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Austin Stroupe and Rockstar Canidae Suzuki’s Jake Moss rounded out the top five.Absent from today’s round is Kawasaki’s Chad Reed, who had indicated last week that he would return to the series in Canada. However, according to Kawasaki a nagging thumb injury has delayed his debut until next week’s round in Dallas.Unlike last year when the track was wet due to soil that was still thawing from being stored in freezing temperatures, this year’s track is dry and in relatively good shape, although it has a few rocks mixed in.Ryan Dungey, practicing at Toronto.Christophe PourcelRyan Villopoto
