This is RYAN VILLOPOTO.
Q: Ryan, what were you occupied with at 9:14 this morning?
A: I was
sleeping in my motorhome at Jacksonville.
Q: How’s your health now and what’s the prognosis?
A: I'm feeling
better. I had an intestinal infection but I'm getting better and I should be
good to race at Seattle.
Q: Will you be physically prepared for Seattle? Will you be 114%?
A: Next
race (in Seattle) is when I should be racing. I don't know where I'll be. I
haven't been able to ride or train, but the break has also let me get rested.
Q: Your thoughts on the outdoors -- the Lucas Oils AMA Motocross Nationals -- can you win the 450 class
and what riders concern you?
A: Obviously, I want to do well at the Nationals. I
think I can win a championship, but it will be tough. There are guys out there
like (Andrew) Short and Timmy (Ferry), and (Mike) Alessi was riding well before his crash last year.
Q: Which rider gets in your way and frustrates you more than
any other?
A: There isn't one guy who is out there causing problems. Everyone has
a bad race so sometimes it is someone you don't even expect.
Q: What’s been your daily driver lately and what’s in the CD player?
A: I still drive my Toyota from Toyota of Escondido and CD player? Nobody
listens to CDs anymore.
Q: This year’s Supercross tracks – are you digging them? What
changes would you like to see?
A: They have been pretty good. I like the longer
lap times.
Q: Are you surprised with JLAW’s sporadic success? Do you think his
“bad behavior” Is behind him?
A: I don't know. I've been focused on my first year
on the big bikes.
Q: How do you feel about racing on Saturdays and some of the other
new outdoor rules?
A: I like that we'll have an extra off day. It's really good
for the team guys who are away from their families so much.
